Come BOOST your skills at the Killington Mountain School! BOOST registration for the 2012-2013 season is open. Please contact Margaret Schlacter—mschlachter@killingtonmountainschool.org or 802.422.5671 x.206—for program availability and registration information. The BOOST program is an introduction to the academy lifestyle for alpine, freestyle, freeskiing, and snowboard student-athletes. BOOST program participants will train with our coaches and work with our dedicated teachers, just like student-athletes in our nine-month and five-month programs. The BOOST program offers multiple options for young student-athletes, including three-day camps, one-week camps, two-week sessions and three-month stays during the fall, winter and summer seasons. Please note that certain age and restrictions are associated with each option. Some of our sessions are filling fast. Make sure to sign up now to secure your spot! SUMMER SESSIONS/CAMPSWe offer summer training options including on-snow and dryland camps that provide young student-athletes with an opportunity to enter the following winter prepared to ski their best. Hood, Oregon, for Summer BOOST! Enjoy 12 days of on-snow training in this 15-day camp, focusing on slalom and giant slalom fundamentals and gate-drill progressions. Get into gates this summer and jumpstart your 2012-13 season! Days off include rafting the Deschutes River and visiting famous Hood River, Ore. Athletes are housed in a quiet location, walking distance from downtown Government Camp, and are supervised by KMS coaching staff.
BOOST Summer Alpine Dryland Camp 2012
This camp introduces young alpine athletes to options for off-season training in a fun and safe environment. Experienced staff utilize KMS facilities along with the Green Mountains and surrounding lakes for physical testing, workout sessions and fun, fitness-building activities. The kids are supervised by KMS staff and have a chance to get a jump start on their fall dryland training. BOOST WINTER TERMBOOST Winter Term
EARLY SEASON SESSIONS/CAMPS BOOST Thanksgiving Camp 2012
The BOOST Thanksgiving Camp gives alpine ski racers a jump on their upcoming season under the guidance of KMS coaches. This camp focuses on slalom fundamentals and a progression into gate training (weather and hillspace permitting). Athletes will need to bring their lunch each day. BOOST Holiday Camp 2012
The BOOST Holiday Camp gives a select group of young ski racers an introduction to KMS. They will get a head start on the upcoming season under the guidance of the KMS coaching staff. This camp focuses on slalom and giant slalom fundamentals and a progression into gate training. Because of early season conditions, gate training space is subject to weather and hillspace availability. Boarding students will stay in the BOOST Program housing under the direct supervision of the KMS dorm staff. WINTER SESSIONSOur sport-specific, two-week sessions are open to student-athletes looking to get their first taste of KMS. The BOOST student-athletes will train alongside our full-time programs and have a dedicated team of teachers who will work with them each day to accomplish their academic work while at KMS.
