KMS alpine athletes earn national ranking points via state-level competition in VARA races, from which they can qualify to regional, national, and international competitions. Athletes who qualify for FIS events earn international rankings and work from regional FIS events (FIS Devo and Eastern Cup races) to national and international races (such as J2 Nationals and Nor Am competition). Coaches develop a competition schedule that targets the races that are most appropriate for each level of athlete, from novice competitors to experienced racers competing in U.S Nationals or Junior World Championships.
