KMS

Although ski racing competition takes place in the winter, it is a year-round pursuit. KMS athletes build physical readiness through individualized, year-round dryland programs and hone their skiing through focused, on-snow camps during the summer months.

To prepare for the 2011-2012 competition season, J1/J2-aged athletes have two on-snow training camps. The first - a July trip (location TBA)-will begin with an emphasis on skiing fundamentals, adding slalom and giant slalom gates as appropriate. The second, a 12-day camp (location TBA), will build on the fundamental base from Saas Fe and increase the gate count and intensity, focusing on slalom and giant slalom skills.

Full-time J3 athletes will also participate in the July camp, while J3 and J4 BOOST athletes may join the KMS BOOST staff at Mt. Hood, Oregon, in the second half of July. All age groups will also have dryland camps on the KMS campus, helping them stay on track with their off-snow training.
