
Matt Gnoza, Director of Sport Development, KMS Freestyle-Freeskiing Program Director, Head KMS Mogul Coach Matt began coaching at Killington in 1994 and is a USSA Level 2 Aerial coach. He was named the 2003 USSA Freestyle Domestic Coach of the Year and was the 2002 and 2003 Junior World coach for US Freestyle Ski Team. Matt is a former USSA competitor with Loon, WVBBTS and the Killington program and is the current Eastern USSA Coaches Education Clinician. He is Co-Camp Director and one of head coaches of PSI Bandit Ramp Camps and coaches at PSI Whistler and PSI Australia. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts, Green Mountain College. He enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking and spending time with Deb and their sons Sam and Charlie. D.J. Montigny, KMS Head Freeskiing Coach D.J. began coaching at Killington in 2005 and is a USSA Level 4 Aerial coach and was a former USSA competitor from Sunday River, Maine before joining the KMS Freestyle Team to finish up his career. He coaches at PSI Bandit Camps, PSI Whistler and PSI Australia. When not on the hill or away at a camp, D.J. enjoys golf and fly fishing. Sam Tarrant, KMS Mogul Coach, KSC/KMS Head A Mogul Coach Same began coaching at Killington in 2006 and is a USSA Level 2 Aerial coach and former USSA competitor out of the Rocky Division. He also coaches at PSI Bandit Camp. Sam enjoys sailing, fly fishing and is also the resident deejay on the team - his van is always full! Kevin Merchant, KMS Freeskiing Coach, KSC-KMS Head Freeskiing Coach Kevin was born and learned to ski in Alaska. In 1997 he moved to western Pennsylvania where he began competing in every slopestyle, big air and rail jam he could find in PA, WV and MD. In 2004 he became a Level 1 ski instructor for PSIA. In 2006 Kevin enrolled at Castleton Sate College where he played for the men's soccer team and became a certified soccer coach. Kevin began coaching at Killington in 2008 as a mountain division coach. He coaches at PSI Bandit camps. Kevin holds a bachelors degree in Physical Education from Casteton State College and enjoys playing soccer and being active outdoors.
Deb Newson, Asst Director of School Operations, Director of Student Life, Interim KSC/KMS Program Director, Mogul Coach Deb began coaching at Killington in 1995 and is now a USSA Level 2 Aerial Coach. She is the 2010 USSA Freestyle Domestic Coach of the Year and the 2010 Gold Level Award Winner - USSA Development Coach of the Year. Deb oversees and coaches all levels of the freestyle program including the weekend program athletes up through the KMS full time and Nor AM Level athletes. She is Chairman of the Eastern Division Freestyle Committee since 2002, Co-Camp Director and one of head coaches of PSI Bandit Ramp Camps, and coaches at PSI Whistler and PSI Australia. She holds a Masters in Education from Castleton State College. Deb enjoys working on her home with Matt and watching Sam and Charlie, their children, develop a passion for skiing greater than hers. |
