Mission At KMS we train the whole athlete - mind, body, and spirit. We are committed to instilling a lifelong passion for the sport of ski racing and to assist athletes in recognizing the importance of goal setting and teamwork to achieve individual success. From physical conditioning to mental preparation, our athletes are equipped for success in the most competitive racing circuits in the United States and abroad.
Options
- Nine-Month full-time program, grades 9 - 12
- Five-month full-time program, grades 7 - PG
- Two-week sessions in conjunction with our full-time program via the KMS BOOST Program,
grades 6 to 9 (ages 11 to 14)
- Weekend program via the KWSC/KMS Competition Programs, ages 6 and up
Objectives
- To instill a lifelong passion for the sport of ski racing
- To assist athletes in recognizing the importance of goal setting and teamwork in
- achieving individual success
- To cover the appropriate skill domains for our athletes including:
- technical skiing fundamentals - physiological - psychological and sociological - training and competition - equipment - racing tactics
The Competition Circuit
Our racers compete in events sanctioned by the Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA), The United States Ski Association (USSA), and the International Federation of Skiing (FIS). The KMS alpine racing program includes:
- slalom
- giant slalom
- super G
- downhill
KMS has supported athletes on training and competition trips as far away as British Columbia, Norway, Colorado, California, France, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland. Training and travel cater to the individual needs of our athletes, who may range in ability from a novice competitor to the most seasoned veteran competing in the U.S. Nationals or Junior World Championships.
