Alpine athlete action


Killington Mountain School Alpine athletes competed in a variety of races in both the US and Canada over the last week, taking podiums and posting career-bests, reflecting the power and depth of their early season training.

Waterville FIS race:

Izzy Jenne was seventh overall in a strong field including USST athlete Julia Ford, and first U16. Quin Taylor top KMS finisher in 17th in an equally strong men's field. In the second SL race Paul Ferri had a top 20 finish. Ben Vergara had his career best GS finish, moving from 81 to 27. More solid skiing by Max Wonsavage.

Proctor:

In the U19 NJR SL Paul Ferri went from bib 54 to 29.

Clay Soper Memorial SL and GS:

Tanner Schultz was third U16 for podium finish.

In the GS Quin Taylor was 17th, Max Wonsavage 19th, Bo Underhill 20th, John Bianchi 25th, Benjamin Vergara 27th, Tanner Schultz 29th, and Zach Jablonski 31st.

Bo Underhill in tenth, in Tanner Schultz 12th, Max Wonsavage 15th, and John Bianchi in 17th. Izzy Jenne 13th, Jenna Jenkins 16th, and Bella Muscara had what Coach Lon Brettell called, "The best race of her life."

U19/21's in Collingwood:

Ryan after first run was tenth, and had a very good second run, finishing fourth. Tommy Shantler made the first 30 for second run and he finished 21st overall. Coach Pavel Stastny shared "Tommy skied technically with more aggressiveness and more focus."

Sugarbush 1/16:

Tanner Schultz at third u16 and tenth overall.

Burke NPS 1/18:

Izzy Jenne was the ninth U16 and first female finisher from the East. Tanner Graves was fifth after the first run.
