KMS Alumni News: Summer 2016

Dear KMS Community,

On behalf of the Alumni & Parent Involvement Team at the Killington Mountain School, we wanted to reach out in the interest of staying better connected and to inform you about some of the exciting things currently happening at KMS.

FIS Audi Ski World Cup is coming to Killington!

If you haven’t heard, on November 26th-27th, the Killington Resort will be hosting the Women’s World Cup Opener, the first World Cup on the East Coast in over 25 years! Don’t miss the chance to see the best women skiers in the world, including three-time world slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin, in a fun packed weekend of slalom and giant slalom races.

In conjunction with the festivities, the Killington Mountain School will be holding several social alumni events throughout the weekend. We invite you to join us for this momentous event, to enjoy the races and to reconnect with old friends. While grandstand tickets to the races sold out in just a few hours, there will be ample opportunities to view the races from the base of the course or by hiking up to watch. Stay tuned for more details!

Golf Tournament

Additionally, we’d like to invite you to attend the Annual KMS Golf Tournament on September 16th. Come play 18 holes with with KMS alumni, coaches, staff, friends, supporters and community members.

Alumni Information Update

Like most recent high school graduates, our KMS alumni often relocate, making it hard to stay in touch. We are currently in the process of updating our database, with an aim of keeping our alumni informed about all the exciting things going on at school. To be sure we have your updated information, we ask you to take a minute or two and fill out this easy to use google form for us. Don’t worry; we won’t share your contact information with any outside sources:

So much has changed at KMS since most of you were students. We are thriving on our new campus, located less than two miles from the resort; we have gotten the much-loved mid-station back up and running on the Snowdon Triple; and we have received multiple recent honors including NEASC accreditation, USSA Gold Club status, been named a USA Cycling Center for Excellence, been recognized as USSA Freestyle Club Program of the Year along with receiving Freestyle Domestic Coach of the Year honors, and we’ve just sent two Freestyle athletes to the U.S. Ski Team.

Our aim is to keep you in the loop, to help you reconnect with schoolmates, to provide meaningful engagement opportunities, and to reconnect you with your alma mater. We look forward to welcoming you back to KMS at one of these upcoming events! Please come back and see us!

Warm regards,

Nori Pepe alumni-info@killingtonmountainschool.org
