Alpine podiums filled with KMS athletes over the weekend

The black coats adorned with bright, green logos could be spotted on podiums at a wide variety of ski hills this past weekend, a welcome sight to our eyes!

Killington Mountain School's U16 athletes were at Stratton over the weekend to compete in a VT Cup GS, where Izzy Jenne took the win. Francesca Castellini grabbed her first-ever podium spot, as the third U16 finisher. Isabella De Buy Wenniger was eighth overall, and Jenna Jenkins took 12th overall. Honor Brogden had a good race as well, finishing as the seventh U16.

Quin Taylor took the win for the boys, taking his first podium ever, after winning both runs. Matt Fryer also had his first podium as the third U16 finisher, with a solid second place finish on the second run. Tanner Graves too the third place spot, John Bianchi was fourth, Ethan Maiden was fifth, Matt Fryer was seventh, Tanner Schultz ninth, Max Wonsavage tenth, Ben Vergara 12th, Wyatt Hoffman 13th, Aidan Bennett 17th and Ryan Bianchi was 18th. Alpine program Director Tom Sell commented, "It was an awesome race today, with great conditions and lots of excitement. Yesterday at Bromley was fantastic as well. It was really cool to see 50 Killington athletes (Academy and Development Program) at Bromley and 37 at Stratton. All the kids were cheering at the start and at the finish and the camaraderie was really impressive." Sell continued, "It was also great to have Coach Jake Lund race at Bromley, and show the boys that they still have some work to do to be faster than their coach!"

As Tom mentioned, Jake took the win at Bromley's VT Cup SL, with John Bianchi in third, Brad Underhill in fourth, Quin Taylor in fifth, Tanner Schultz sixth, Crawford Jones in seventh, Max Wonsavage in eighth, Tanner Graves in tenth, and PJ Bovaconti just outside the top ten in 12th.

The U14 athletes were at Okemo on Monday for a Super G, where Caroline Roy took the first place spot and Ashley Spreng was third, Bella Phelan fourth, and Joanna Robinson-Lieth was ninth. Bobby Turner finished second for the boys, with Oscar Preisler in fourth, and the crew got to take home the Bean Pot once again! Nice work 14's!
