Student of the Week - Cameron Washburn

Congratulations to Cameron Washburn, who was named Student of the Week at Wednesday's all-school meeting. Cam is a 10th grade Alpine athlete who comes to KMS from Upper Saddle River, NJ. He was nominated for this award by Math Department Chair, Steven Tuckerman.

Steve shared, "Cam really took our midterm exam seriously and with great focus. Cam did so well on the midterm that I gave him a grade of 120%! He has shown great improvements in his study skills and preparation over the course of the year, and is doing an excellent job." Science Department Chair Terri Isidro agreed, "I second the nomination for Cam. He has stepped up and challenged himself to work ahead in the course, and is showing excellent motivation, solid work ethic, and great responsibility for his learning in the new year!" Social Studies Department Chair Courtney O'Keefe added her thoughts: "Although I am not teaching Cam during the K-Term, I would like to add to his nomination for Student of the Week. Cam sought me out earlier in the year for guidance on how to improve and meet not only my expectations but his personal expectations as well. After this meeting, Cam dived back into Social Studies with increased focus and motivation. His work quality became the best that I have seen in my time teaching him. His writing became more concise and reflective, providing clear supporting details and offering perspectives on historical events and figures that made even me stop and think about things a little bit differently. He stepped up while traveling, getting work in early and asking me to look at assignments to make sure that he was accomplishing what was expected. It was a pleasure to see his dedication to his course and his determination towards becoming an even better student in Social Studies. Way to go, Cam!"

Well done, Cameron! Keep up the good work!
