Congratulations to Michael Dinn who was named Student of the Week at Wednesday's all-school meeting. Michael is a 10th grade Freestyle athlete who comes to KMS from Cataumet, MA. He was nominated for this award by math teacher Steve Tuckerman. Steve shared, "I'd like to nominate Michael Dinn for Student of the Week. He is off to a very strong start in Algebra 2. He is completing his work in a timely fashion and showing mastery of the material."
Science Department Chair Terri Isidro agreed, "Although he just joined the KMS community, Michael is already displaying great enthusiasm, responsibility, and a willingness to work hard and learn. It's great working with this student who has such a positive attitude toward learning!"
Art teacher Eric Kuntz nominated Michael as well, "I, too, back up Steve's nomination for Michael Dinn. He just joined my class this week, and was immediately a positive, focused and enjoyable student in the classroom. I taught Michael last year, and he was always on time, creative and up for any challenge. Michael will also always take the time to help others with their work. As his advisor, I can say that Michael is always witty with a joke or comment to whatever the situation shows arises. I look forwarding to having him at KMS this year!"
World Languages instructor Malena Agin nominated Michael as well, "He is doing awesome work in Spanish. He is fun and enthusiastic but most importantly, he shows up every class and participates in his learning."
Humanities teacher Ian Groezinger rounded out the nominations, "I would also like to nominate Michael. Though I have only had him in class for a week, he has shown a strong knowledge base in the subject matter at hand as well as an ability to discuss the how and why of the most important topics --taking time to explain the 'so what?' "
Congratulations, Michael! Way to kick off the winter-term with an incredibly strong start!
