Freeskiing

For student athletes focused on competitive Freeskiing, Killington Mountain's long season and expansive terrain provide the best on-hill training in the East at our back door. Award winning terrain parks, superior snow conditions, and every type of skiing imaginable are waiting for our athletes every day. Our “backyard” has the variety of terrain that allows us to develop athletes to compete at the highest levels of Slopestyle and Rail Jam competitions. In addition, KMS features a four-season air bag training facility.

The Freeski Program at KMS works on the philosophy that it takes more than just on-hill training to develop a successful student-athlete. In addition to outstanding academics, on-site facilities include an Action Sports Training Center that houses two Olympic flybed trampolines and balance training equipment. KMS Freeski team members also train daily in the Strength and Conditioning Center. These facilities allow KMS coaches to prepare athletes for trick progression, while helping to minimize injuries on the hill.

KMS Freeski Team student-athletes continue their tradition of top-level performance in competitive Freeskiing participating in USASA and USSS events.

Freestyle Moguls

The KMS Freestyle Team loves to attack mogul venues around the world. Off the hill, the Action Sports Training Facility will help our student-athletes develop a great baseline of fitness and awareness. From there we will take our skills directly to the hill on Killington’s great venues!

KMS student-athletes have a unique opportunity to excel in both academics and athletics while training at an elite level. We have some of the best teachers, coaches, resources and technology at our disposal to bolster the student-athlete's success. These aspects all combine to create the best freestyle skiing program in the world.

This season members of our team will compete on the regional, national and international circuits of freestyle mogul skiing, including the USSA "A" Eastern Championship Series, FIS events, USSA Junior Nationals, Junior World Championships and US Championships.

The coaching staff and I are excited for a season filled with podium results and personal bests on all levels.

The Snowboard Program at KMS works on the philosophy that it takes more than just on-hill training to develop a successful student-athlete. In addition to outstanding academics, KMS facilities include a four-season airbag training facility and on-campus
Action Sports Training center that houses Olympic flybed trampolines & balance training equipment. KMS Snowboard team members train daily in the Strength and Conditioning Center which is equipped with free weights, agility training tools, and more than 20 stationary resistance bikes. These facilities allow KMS coaches to prepare athletes for progression, while helping to minimize injuries on the hill.

KMS Snowboard Team student-athletes continue their tradition of top-level performance in all disciplines of competitive snowboarding. Current team members have achieved success at National events that include multiple podium finishes in REV Tour and NorAM events along with 2018 USASA Snowboard Nationals at Copper Mountain, Colorado. They have also secured invitations to participate in highly selective events like the US Ski & Snowboard “Project Gold” development camps, Canadian National Team, and World Cup. KMS coaches utilize the latest technology to enable immediate video feedback on the hill, which serves to speed up athlete progression. The coaches have a wealth of combined experience in developing and mentoring student-athletes into successful adults.

KMS provides athletes a progressive foundation toward success in Snowboard competition with academic and non-academic camps, sessions, and season-long programs. KMS offers Snowboard programs for all abilities and ages (6 through 20+).

Camps

Action Sports Camps

KMS athletic programs run year-round, providing student-athletes with the building blocks they need to reach their goals. KMS racers work throughout the preparation period—the time between the end of one competition season and the beginning of the next—to be ready for that next season's competitions.

Each winter, the coaching staff plans the camps for the following preparation period; these plans are based on the year-round athletic development curriculum and targetted to the needs of KMS student-athletes.
