Toren is a Full-Term, Downhill Mountain Biking athlete, who comes to KMS from Ludlow, Vermont. Toren’s nomination was enthusiastically supported by many within our community, who acknowledge the incredible impact this young man has had within the different facets of our community. Just checkout some of the write-ups submitted on his behalf!
Gravity Mountain Bike Coach and Advisor Josh Poirier was the first to step up and nominate Toren for this recognition. Josh reflects, “Toren is always up to date on his school work and puts just as much focus into his academics as he does with his athletics. With regards to his sport, he is consistently pushing himself to be the best athlete he can be. And around the school, Toren is always positive and upbeat, a definite role model for the younger kids.”
Full-Term World Languages teacher Ana Araguas agrees wholeheartedly with Josh’s assessment of Toren and adds, “Toren is a loyal and dedicated student, who has a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and respect toward his teachers and peers.” From talking with Ana this year, it is apparent that Toren is a much welcomed as well as appreciated addition to her Spanish classroom!
And rounding out these write-ups is Social Studies Department Co-Chair and Advisory Coordinator Courtney O’Keefe. Courtney writes, “It is a pleasure to have Toren as part of the KMS community. He is an amazing role model for our young student-athletes, who see what hard work and commitment can achieve both in and out of the classroom. He is one of few who is dedicated not only to his sport, but also to his academics and his place within our community. As a person, Toren is an amazingly kind, thoughtful, and selfless young man. He is always willing to step forward to help out, facing each and every challenge in front of him with grit and determination. He is one of the few who reaches out to those who are new, and is always ready to help his peers with anything they may be struggling with. He is genuinely grateful for the opportunities he receives here, and his authentic humility allows him to approach others with both compassion and empathy. I continue to be thankful to consider Toren as a fellow KMS community member, and I hope he realizes how much his presence here impacts us all for the better. Thank you, Toren.”
We would like to thank Toren for the amazing contributions he has made within our community. We are proud to call you one of our own, Toren!
