Claire Kershko

Claire began skiing in the Development programs at the Killington Ski Club and attended KMS as a student-athlete in the Alpine program. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bates College, where she received a B.A. in Religious Studies. At Bates, Claire was captain of the Alpine Ski Team and eventually joined the program as an assistant coach, leading the team to strong annual showings at the NCAA Division 1 National Championships. 

Claire’s other professional accomplishments include service as the Special Projects Administrator for the President of Bates College, where she developed crucial abilities in education administration and fundraising. She was also a financial analyst in Boston before returning to coaching at Gould Academy, where she served as an admissions liaison for On Snow Programs and coached U16 alpine athletes and soccer. Claire went on to be named as the Assistant and then, Head Alpine Ski Coach at Clarkson University (Div. III) leading the team to annual USCSA National Championship appearances and coaching the men’s team to win a National Title in GS. While at Clarkson, she obtained her Master's in Business Administration and recently exercised her promotional expertise in the marketing department of a Fortune 500 company.

Rhonda Benoit

Rhonda has been working in a professional kitchen for 20 years. She started working in a kitchen when she was 13 as a dishwasher/prep cook and slowly worked her way through the ranks. While in high school she also attended River Valley Technical School and graduated top at the top of her class (Culinarian of the Year). Rhonda then went on to attend Southern New Hampshire University and received a Associate's Degree in Applied Science, continuing on for two more years of Food and Beverage Management.

After graduating college, Rhonda returned to Vermont and worked at the Birch Ridge Inn for several years before moving to Newport, RI and working for the #1 catering company in New England, providing the food for weddings and functions varying in size from 10-30,000 people.

She moved on to be the Sous Chef at the Coast Guard House in Narragansett, RI for a several years before returning home to VT to be closer to her family. She has been at KMS for five years, and heads up the Nutrition program at the school, at times collaborating with the Nutritionist and the Executive Chef at the Olympic Training Camp in Lake Placid, NY.

Chris Bianchi

Chris is an alumnus of the Killington Mountain School class of ‘86. He  moved back to Killington after receiving his Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Vermont.  Chris started his career at Applied Research Associates in Civil Engineering Research developing software and systems in the field of contaminated site characterization and cleanup.  At ARA, Chris was also heavily involved with modernizing the network infrastructure and outsourcing their IT services to local schools.  Before coming to KMS, Chris worked for California based Enounce Incorporated where he was involved in all aspects of the software life cycle from development and testing to sales and support, and was responsible for management of all technology infrastructure and website assets. Chris is the driver behind taking the school forward to facilitate both distance learning and solidify the intelligent use of technology to efficiently run the school   Chris and his wife Betsey have two children and live in Killington.

Meghan Giardi

Meghan is an Alumni of KMS and the alpine program.  After competing at KMS she went on to race USCSA at Clarkson University.  Meghan was captain of the team for 3 years and competed all four years at USCSA Nationals.


After completing a BS at Clarkson University in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Meghan worked for OldCastle Materials in their mining division in Rochester, New York. Eventually starting a masters degree at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Mining Engineering, which she plans to finish December 2016. 

While in Rochester Meghan started her coaching career as a U16 coach for the Hunt Hollow Race Team. Meghan spent the next few years completing her Level 200 Alpine Coaches Certification and spent two year sitting on NYSSRA’s U16 Development Committee. 

Meghan returns to KMS as a Student Life Coordinator and Alpine Coach.

Greg Hadley

Greg has been with KMS since 2005, after fifteen years of operating Vermont Sport Sales Agency where he managed the North American sales and marketing of many top ski brands such as Nordica, Carrera, Phoenix Clothing, Komperdell Ski Poles, Shred, and Slytech.


Greg has over twenty five years of experience in the ski racing industry. After a shortened ski racing career due to injury, he started coaching at his home town ski club, Nashoba Valley in Westford Massachusetts, where he coached the J 1-2 program. He also implemented their Elite Training Program in conjunction with Waterville Valley Academy, where the skiers would spend weekends training with the Academy students and coaches. Greg also spent two years coaching at Beaver Creek in Colorado, as well as coaching for the US Adaptive Alpine Program out of Vail Colorado.


He started at KMS with the Junior Development three day programs, and moved into a full-time role the following year, working with the J3’s (now the U16 group) where he was appointed Head Coach in 2010. In 2012 he took over the U14 program and is currently the Head Coach of the U14 Program. He also continues to direct the BOOST Programs, as well as Admissions here at KMS.


Greg has been the VARA Mid Vermont Council U14 representative for the past two years, has been involved with the USSA Eastern Regional System programs for the past 4 years, and is a USSA certified coach.

April Hayden

April graduated from Bates College with a BA in English and German and received her MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Castleton. She has held positions in higher education for many years - including Admissions Counselor at The School for International Training, seven years as a Financial Aid Counselor and Instructor at CCV and, most recently, as Circulation and Reserve Supervisor at the Baker-Berry Library at Dartmouth College.


April enjoys mountain biking, trail running, snowshoeing, skiing... She lives in Pittsfield with her husband, two children, and a menagerie of animals.  Both children attend KMS full-time as ski cross, rock climbing, and downhill mountain biking athletes.

Emily Hudson

Emily is a 2016 graduate of Castleton University where she pursued Vermont Social Studies teaching licensure while studying History, Secondary Education, and Coaching. While at Castleton, Emily was a four-year member of the Varsity Field Hockey team and participated in the NCAA Division Three Field Hockey Tournament. She was also held leadership in the Ski and Snowboard Club and served as coordinator for the new student orientation program. Prior to coming to KMS, Emily spent time working in Providence, Rhode Island serving as an academic tutor and behavior coach to middle school students.

Aside from teaching, Emily’s passions and interests include snowboarding, hiking, and getting lost in a good book.

Chuck Hughes

Chuck started coaching in 1975 for the Pico Ski Club and attended the first USSA Coaches Academy in 1980. Since then he has taught and coached for Killington Resort, Pico Ski Club, Burke Mountain Academy, Winter Park, the Ontario Ski Team, the Southern Ontario Ski Team, and KMS. Chuck took the first group of KMS athletes to train in Europe. He is a certified USSA Coach, Alpine Official and a FIS Technical Delegate (TD) for Alpine (speed certified and examiner). He has been a TD for events at the World Cup, Canadian National’s, NorAm Cup, FIS UNI’s, EISA Championships, NCAA Championships, South American Cup , USCSA Regional Championships, and at all levels of USSA racing.

Chuck is currently a FIS TD and Nationally ranked certified Alpine Official. Chuck is a USSA Alpine Level 300 certified coach.

Chuck has served as a member of many boards including VARA (past president and current board member), Eastern Alpine Officials Committee (chairperson), and VARA Alpine Official (chairman). He is currently a member of the USSA Sport Committee, the USSA TD Working Group, Eastern ACC Committee, and the US FIS TD Working Group.

Chuck was the recipient of the Burckett/Dodge Award for Outstanding Officiating in the Eastern Region and the VARA Volunteer of the Year Award.

Chuck’s wife, Betty, was the director of academics and headmaster at KMS for 16 years, and has been a coach in the KSC/KMS program for over 20 years.

Chucks three children all grew up in the KSC and attended KMS. They all competed in Alpine Racing and achieved many accomplishments from; MID VT Champions, Vermont State Champions, VARA TEAM, JO Champions, EASTERN Ski Team Members, USST Members, JR World Championship Team Members, NCAA Champs, NCAA All-Americans, World University Games Participants, and US Ski Team Members and graduates of UNIV of Vermont, Middlebury College and the UNIV of Colorado.

Tyler Smith

Tyler grew up ski racing at Mountain Creek in New Jersey. Graduate of Wallkill Valley High School before attending Castleton University in the fall of 2012. Four year member of Castletons Alpine Ski Team. Helped the Spartans to three podium finishes at USCSA Nationals and captured a Regional Championship in 2016. Graduate of Castleton University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in adventure recreation. Tyler has also been a part of Spartan race since 2013 traveling the country setting up their various lengths of obstacle course races. Tyler has been with KSC/KMS since 2016 as the events crew chief. Tyler is also involved with the Killington Audi FIS ski world cup serving as the assistant chief of course for the races. Tyler currently resides in Killington with his girlfriend Lauren and their dogs.

Alexis Voutas

KSC/KMS Development Programs and KMS Events Coordinator


Alexis graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Special Education. She has been working for KMS for multiple years and is currently a USSS Level 1 Competition Official, Jury Advisor, and Race Administrator.

Alexis has also served as the On Hill Volunteer Coordinator for the 2016-2019 Killington AUDI FIS SKI WORLD CUP working closely alongside the Chief of Race and Chief of Course.
