Shootouts and States!

Killington Mountain School's Alpine athletes have put all their hard work training to good use over the past couple of weeks, with strong performances at States and at a variety of SL and GS events.

In the State races, Izzy took third in the GS and sixth in the SL.
At the boys' U16 States, Tanner Graves took third overall and qualified for Eastern Championships.

U12 Stubby SL at Suicide Six 2/26/17:
Shelby Graves took second and Megan Bianchi was fifth. For the boys Albert Preisler took the win and Connor Roy finished in 3rd place. In addition, Killington once again took home the boot!
Helen Bruno shared this update: "The U12 team may have started the day yawning but quickly snapped into gears once they suited and booted up for the days completion. Training on challenging Killington terrain prepared the athletes for the FACE at Suicide 6. Again the team took home the “Boot” with 7 athletes making the podium! However there were several incredible runs demonstrating success happens in many ways. Maddix Webster smoked his first run after leaving one pole at the start to come in fourth and was crushing the second run before a straddle. Brice Mueller was the opposite, struggled the first run but had his best skiing ever to throw down a second place in the second run. Jaedon followed his last top ten with another top ten. Jack Overbay and Connor Sterling had major breakthroughs….both carving turns on the hard surface of S6 to finish in the top 25. The girls followed suit with some great results, four in the top ten! Including Fallon, who finished two runs to pop an 8th place!!"

Also on Saturday at Pico was the Downhill for Diabetes race, where KMS took home the trophy for most funds raised! It was a great event for a great cause!
