Dylan Conte Joins Gravity Cycling Program at Killington Mountain School
Dylan Conte will join the Gravity Cycling Program as Co-Head Coach for the 2022 season. Conte will work in partnership with current Head Coach Jason DiDomenico to continue bringing the KMS program to new heights.
Spending his formative years in Stowe, Vermont, Conte was engrossed in the Vermont cycling community at a young age and was very quickly deemed a "local fast boy" by popular cycling media. In high school, he turned his passion into a career, traveling the country and world racing his bike. In his tenth season as a professional athlete, Conte is still driven by the pure joy of riding and knows exactly when to flip the switch, having competed in both the UCI Downhill World Cup and Enduro World Series. He also brings a deep familiarity with the Eastern States Cup Series having clinched the second overall position for the Pro Division this season and remains a competitive American downhill racer.
Conte developed a passion for coaching and teaching after being asked to be a guest pro coach at Highland Mountain Bike Park's Ayr Academy in 2015. During that first year he realized that he had a natural ability to teach and has since honed and developed his craft teaching mountain biking and racing skills. Most recently, Conte was the Head Coach and Program Director for the Stowe Mountain Bike Academy Race Team where he led athletes competing in both enduro and downhill racing.
Head of School Claire Kershko is thrilled to have Conte join the program. She remarks, "I was impressed by Dylan's leadership and ability to connect with our athletes, coaches and parents, increasing the 'stoke' they feel on a daily basis. He supports our mission and has already demonstrated that he is an excellent fit. His coaching expertise, program design experience and balanced approach to his own competitive riding make up the formula for sustained fun and success. I am greatly enjoying working with both Jason [DiDomenico] and Dylan as we build the best gravity program in the country."
Conte has earned certification from the Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP). In his free time, he enjoys searching for the elusive Vermont powder on his split board, dirt jumping, and working on improving his dirt biking.
KMS looks forward to formally welcoming Conte to KMS this winter in preparation for the upcoming 2022 gravity cycling season.
