Student of the Week - January 25, 2017

Congratulations to Izzy Jenne who was named Student of the Week at Wednesday's all-school meeting. Izzy is a tenth grade Alpine athlete who and comes to KMS from Bridgewater Corners, VT. She was nominated for this award by Social Studies Department Chair Courtney O'Keefe who shared the following, "Izzy is one of my top students in US History. She is a leader in the classroom, stepping forward to ask really great questions, clarifying information to help her peers when something might be confusing or unclear, and steering classroom conversation and focus to keep all class time as productive as possible. She has really stepped up this quarter, meeting all my new classroom expectations. She uploads her work on time and prior to class, she comes in and gets her Google Classroom course immediately up without being prompted, she stays on top of all work while traveling and gets all completed assignments to me as soon as possible, she constantly works hard to improve on her work quality with every assignment, and she is one individual that I can always count on to ask great questions prior to class on any assignment. Overall, she is a great student and an asset to my classroom." English Department Chair Alex Crivici added, "Izzy not only balances her athletics and academics, but she continues to take on more leadership roles in BEAR and in our classroom climate. Izzy is a very talented writer, but she always strives to become better and never shies away from asking questions." History teacher Ian Groezinger added an additional reason for Izzy's nomination, "I will also throw my support towards Izzy. Although I do not teach her this year, she has become part of our Monday Bear/Student Council meetings and has been a welcome presence. She recently created an awesome peer tutoring program for the KMS community that she plans to implement in the next week or so." Congratulations, Izzy!
