Ben Smith to represent U.S. at Junior Worlds

Killington Mountain School is proud to announce that Ben Smith has earned a spot on the U.S. Team for the 2019 SBX Junior World Championships in Rigla, Slovenia on March 29- April 1. The top six Junior Men and Women have been named to the US Junior World Team. Selection is based on criteria decided by both FIS Points and North American Cup standing. Ben is an 11th grade student who comes to KMS from Shrewsbury, MA.

Ben commented, "I’m excited. At the start of the season, I didn’t expect that I would qualify this year. Being selected to the U.S. Team for Junior Worlds has been one of my long term goals since I came to KMS. I am looking forward to it, and I am proud that my hard work has paid off.”

Through his selection to the US Junior Worlds Team, Ben has also secured another invitation to the U.S. “Project Gold” camp this summer.

Snowboard Program Director Jeff Juneau added, “Being named to the U.S. SBX Team for Junior Worlds is a huge achievement. Ben’s second season on the NorAm Tour included a seventh NorAm Place finish and multiple top 20 results that combined to earn him this selection. I am stoked that his hard work and focus have put him in a position to fulfill his dream of representing the U.S. at Junior World Championships!”

Congratulations, Ben!
