Black Bear Community Award

Please join the KMS community in celebrating the first Black Bear Community Award of the year! For those new to our community, the Black Bear Community Award is given by the KMS faculty, who recognizes those within our community who go above and beyond to benefit the many different demographics within our school and beyond. These individuals selflessly dedicate their time and energy to stepping forward to better their community without any expectation of recognition or reward. We continue to be incredibly grateful as well as humbled by the level of selfless commitment that many within our community show on a daily basis. Their willingness to contribute positively fosters an environment where all may live up to their fullest potential, strive for excellence via their personal as well as professional growth, and to provide for all the unique opportunities that differentiates KMS from other education and athletic institutions.Â
This week’s Black Bear recognizes the following KMS community members: Coach Craig Bennett, Ocean Einhorn-Diehl, Adam Kunrt, Agata Kunrtova, Krystof Kunrt, Ondrej Poslusny, and Vanesa Bohanska.
All seven community members were nominated by KSC/KMS Development Program Director and KMS Events Director Chuck Hughes. Chuck states, “I would like to nominate Coach Craig Bennett, all five members of the Czech Team, and Ocean for their outstanding help during the Killington Ski Club Ski Sale over Community Weekend. On Sunday, they were the only volunteers to show up for breakdown, and they stepped up in a big way! The group carried hundreds of items- including skis, poles, and boots- down the stairs from the lodge to the basement, moved heavy ski racks, returned tables to their proper places, and thoroughly cleaned up the upstairs area. Thanks in large part to their hard work, the breakdown was completed in a record time of just over 45 minutes!
The adults volunteering at the sale repeatedly commented on how much the KMS students contributed, particularly in moving the bulk of the equipment. It was wonderful to hear so many positive comments about their willingness to help and the impact they made. In addition, the five members of the Czech Team arrived early Friday morning to help load carts with goodie bags, water, koozies, and scorecards. Their collective effort, initiative, and willingness to pitch in wherever needed are a wonderful reflection of the KMS community. Whether or not they receive the Black Bear Community Award, they absolutely deserve recognition for their contributions!”Â
An amazing example of KMS values in action! We truly appreciate each of you for your selflessness, dedication, and overall commitment to our community!
