Please join the KMS teaching faculty in congratulating Ella Andrews as this week’s Academic Standout! Ella is an 11th grade Freeski athlete, who comes to KMS from Easthampton, Massachusetts. Ella received many strong nominations this week from her teachers, who recognize her incredibly strong work ethic, her thoughtful as well as meaningful contributions to class discussion, and her ability to make any learning environment both a positive as well as productive one with her presence. The teaching faculty can think of no better student to close out this award for 2023!

First to nominate Ella, as well as present for her during our all-school meeting this week, is Math Department Co-Chair and Math and Science teacher Allison Resnick. Allison stated, “Ella has been a solid student all year long. Not only has she been doing well in calculus, but she’s always eager to step up and help her peers. Ella works hard every day to make sure that she is fully understanding all of the material. This recognition is well-deserved.”

Seconding Ella’s nomination is French Language teacher and Dorm Supervisor Bridget Monaghan. Bridget reflects, “Ella is a standout individual both academically and as a leader. She has a very strong work ethic, and due to diligent studying she finds success as both a student and athlete. Her contributions and presence facilitate a productive classroom environment. Her willingness to participate and insightful questions provide greater understanding for her peers. Ella's commitment to excellence extends beyond her own achievements, positively influencing the learning experience of those around her.”

Also supporting Ella’s nomination is Math and Science teacher Adam Boshart. Adam comments, “Ella is awesome! She brings a realistic lens to a discussion-based class and always remains optimistic. She is creative and a great communicator, and we are lucky to have her to enrich our sustainability classes! Congrats on this well-deserved accolade, Ella!”

Last, but certainly not least, offering his own nomination for Ella this week is Social Studies Department Co-Chair, Humanities teacher, Registrar, and Winter-Term and Middle School Experience Coordinator Ian Groezinger. Ian writes, “Ella has been on fire this year in Public Speaking.  From day one she showed poise and confidence in front of the group.  Ella constantly comes to class prepared and ready to learn.  She always keeps up with her assignments and has earned only high marks since she joined the class.  Ella is a natural when it comes to speaking publicly.”

Ella, you are a true academic at heart and we appreciate the value you bring to our learning community. Continue to strive for excellence both on the hill as well as in the classroom. Be proud of yourself! Way to go!!!!
