Cycling team rounds out cross season with strong finishes at Ice Weasels race

The Killington Mountain School Cycling team traveled to West Warwick, RI over the weekend for the iconic "Ice Weasel Cometh" cyclocross event, which is a popular end-of-season, non-sanctioned race. For some, it is an end of the year party, with lots of “hand-ups” and clever costumes, while for others, it’s a more serious race and another step on the way to National Championships in early January. The venue has changed over the years, but most racers agreed that this RI course was one of the better ones! It was a very technical course with lots of ups, downs, turns, stairs, barriers, and other features to test the late-season skills of the cyclocross racers.

Coach Brad Ramsay reports that the KMS athletes had an awesome day! Aliza Tobias took second in her field, Turner Ramsay was first among the Elite (Jedi) women, and Johannes Stromski closed out the day with an awesome tenth in a strong field of Elite (Jedi) Men!

Next weekend, the team travels to Southern New England for the last weekend of racing before CX Nationals.
