Black Bear Award - February 7, 2017
Congratulations to Izzy Jenne who was given this week's Black Bear Award. Izzy is an 11th grade Alpine athlete who comes to KMS from Bridgewater Corners, VT. She was nominated for this award by Science teacher Brad Ramsay, for her work in creating, implementing and executing a Peer Tutoring program at KMS. Izzy first fielded recommendations from teachers on who would make good student tutors in each subject, confirmed interest from the student tutors, reached out to teachers for recommendations about who could benefit from some extra help, and finally connected those students with peer tutors in the appropriate subjects. The teachers are thrilled with this extra avenue of support for students, and Brad took note, saying, "Things like this can make a big difference in the culture and morale at KMS! I think it is awesome, and shows how a little effort and giving back has the potential to significantly improve the KMS experience for others. Izzy is doing an awesome job with this program, and it is cool that the kids are into making a difference!" Way to go, Izzy! Thanks for this awesome contribution to KMS.
