Student of the Week - April 12, 2017

Congratulations to Crawford Jones who was named Student of the Week at today's all-school meeting. Crawford is an 11th grade alpine athlete who comes to KMS from Mendon, VT. He was nominated for this award by Math department chair Steve Tuckerman. In his nomination, Steve commented that Crawford is a "great student" who is working hard and excelling in his class. This prompted many other nominations from other faculty members. Science department chair Terri Isidro shared, "Crawford is enthusiastic, participates fully, and very responsible about letting me know when he will be traveling. He keeps track of assignments and always puts forth his best efforts in completing tasks in and out of class. He is always has a positive attitude in class, and despite a busy competition schedule he keeps school a top priority!" History/English teacher Ian Groezinger chimed in as well, "I do not teach Crawford, but he has been an influential member of our Seminar Series all year long. I think I speak for Pete, Ted, and myself when I say that Crawford comes to seminar week in and week out prepared and ready to discuss the material. He often asks thought provoking questions and generates quality discussions amongst his peers and seminar leaders." English department chair Alex Crivici agreed, "I would also like nominate Crawford. He is always prepared for class, and ready to take on a leadership role. He is a positive student, with a great personality and goes the "extra mile" on assignments by making corrections, handing in drafts, and asking for feedback. He has grown so much this year, and I cannot wait to see his future accomplishments." Finally history department chair Courtney O'Keefe shared her assessment of Crawford's work in class, "Crawford is a kind and respectful young man who takes his academics very seriously. He stays on top of his work, works hard while traveling to stay on task, takes a leadership role among his class peers, and is a positive influence to the classroom. His work demonstrates a high level of focus and effort, which is demonstrated in his ever-increasing work quality. He contributes meaningfully to all class discussions and is, overall, a great student. It is a pleasure to watch him to continue to grow academically. Nice one, Crawford!" Well done, Crawford!
